Welcome to Armband Coaching
My name is Alan White, and I have been in some type of youth ministry role for the past 25 years. I've had the joy of serving in a variety of contexts from being an assistant to a youth pastor in a small rural church to leading a multi-staff youth ministry of 200+ students and volunteers to my current role leading the ministry team at Camp Lighthouse (www.camplighthouse.org). While each setting has been different, there are certain culture building techniques and systems based solutions that apply to every ministry setting. I believe that every ministry is different, so my approach is process and value driven instead of programatic or formulaic. I have a passion for helping youth pastors build healthy, vibrant, and sustainable youth ministries through coaching and mentoring. I was blessed to have some incredible mentors and coaches along my own ministry journey, and still do, and I desire to do the same for the next generation of youth leaders.
Mission
Armband Coaching is dedicated to developing the soul care, systems, and skills needed for youth leaders to build sustainable and healthy youth ministries and to equip youth leaders to stay in ministry for the long haul.
Why Armband?
In soccer (or football if you’re a real fan), captains traditionally wear an armband to denote their role on the team. The coach can’t go on the field but the captains can, making them the catalyst for the success of the team. Therefore, my approach is to focus on the development of the “Captains” as they lead the rest of the team in ministry.
My Approach
Soul Care | Healthy leaders lead healthy ministries, so my first priority is to focus on the spiritual, mental, relational, and physical health of the youth leader to equip them to lead for the long haul.
Flexibility | Sessions can be scheduled monthly, bi-monthly, weekly, or over a few day intensive. Sessions can be completed virtually or in-person. (Additional expenses for in-person sessions outside of Metro-Atlanta)
Coaching & Training | My approach is to equip youth leaders with the systems and skillsets necessary for them build the healthy youth ministry that God is calling them to lead using over 20 different training modules.
Individual Coaching
Discovery Session | $200 | 90 minute coaching session a ministry and leader profile based on multiple online assessments.
5 Sessions | $550 | 5 coaching sessions including the Discovery Session plus 4 additional 60 minute coaching sessions.
10 Sessions | $1,000 | 10 coaching sessions including a Discovery Session plus 9 additional 60 minute coaching sessions.
Group Training
Workshop | $200 | 90 minute team training workshop using one of the 20+ youth ministry training modules. Includes training, group discussion time, and facilitated team building exercies to help your ministry team connect.
Training Day | $600 | Training and team development from 9AM-3PM including 3 training modules, discussion, and facilitated team building exercises (lunch to be provided by the youth ministry team for all participants).
Ministry Construction | $1,500 | I will work together with your youth ministry team to build a framework for the ministry including program, communication, and volunteer plans via a 3 day intensive team planning summit.
Armband Academy
Armband Academy is a 10 month (August - May) professional development program to equip current youth leaders or future youth leaders in the soul care, systems, and skillsets needed to build healthy youth ministries through a cohort-style learning context. This program is designed for leaders who are entering into youth ministry or in their first few years of professional youth ministry.

Soul Care | The ministry can only be as healthy as the leader, so we will focus on your own spiritual health as part of the learning and training process.

Systems & Skillsets | You will learn the logistical structures necessary to build a healthy youth ministry including calendar planning, communication models, and volunteer development. ​You will also learn pastoral skills, small group leadership, speaking, and vision-casting to help you lead effectively and with confidence.​

Career Development | Each participant will receive a certificate, letter of recommendation, and coaching through their own personal career needs including job application guidance if desired.​​
Cohort Retreats | Participants will attend a two day, one night retreat in August and January during the program for the purpose of group training, community building, and spiritual rejuvenation. Retreats will be at Camp Lighthouse in Talking Rock, GA and are included in the cost of the program with the exception of your travel.

Monthly Sessions | Each participant will attend virtual group training sessions each month to learn new systems and skills and to facilitate peer learning and discussion.​ Each participate will also have a 30 minute, 1-1 call each month to discuss specific goals and needs.
